My collection of pictures of different bird species is getting bigger and bigger and I am very happy with that. This Eurasian hobby (Falco subbuteo) (Baumfalke in German) was sitting on top of a tree when I walked by and I was really happy to finally find this kind of bird. It is another bird of prey in my list that I can finally checkmark. Unfortunately the light was pretty bad and I couldn't get very close to the bird before it flew away, but at least I have seen it now. The Eurasian hobby is fast and powerful in flight and hunts large insects, such as dragonflies, which it transfers from talons to beak and eats while soaring slowly in circles. It also captures small bats and small birds in flight.
The light was very bad this day so I had to use a high ISO and still couldn't get a decent picture. Next time will be better I am sure. :-)
