When I visited my parents in late spring, early summer last year I found this yellowhammer sitting on a branch near their house. It was sitting and waiting there, and I was able to get some really nice shot of it this day. The bird was carefully watching me when I approached it with my camera but it didn't fly away so i was able to take some closeup shots of it.

The Yellowhammer is a common bird in whole Europe and during spring time I always see some near my home place but also on my travel at lake Neusiedler or other places. This is why I was already able to take several shots of this bird. But still I think it is a beautiful bird with it's yellow feathers on the front.
Another shot of the bird but from a little more distance. Picture: Florian Glechner.
