Ash-throated Flycatcher Myiarchus cinerascens
This is a common bird in much of its range in the United States, but here in Washington State it has a very limited range, and I felt lucky to find this bird last summer.
the Myiarchus flycatchers are characterized by their rufous in the wings or tail, their crest on the head, and by being tough to differentiate from each other unless they call or sing.

They are in large part insectivores, catching large flying insects in flight by sallying out from a perch. As you can see this bird was successful.
