While this news is a bit sad to see, it sets in the reality of what Bitcoin is, Vs what it was dreamed to be 5 or 6 years ago.
Adoption and use cases are where the rubber meets the road, and this applies to all of these projects on crypto.
Reality is a great fuel to spur innovation. In the end, it's a good thing to see a well-established payments platform give Bitcoin a well-deserved try and concluding that in its current state it's not a fit solution for them nor their clients.
Long transaction times and expensive transaction fees make Bitcoin totally useless for small transactions. For large transactions, you probably want to go through a bank or some centralized institution that can guarantee things end up where they are supposed to.
The lone hold out use case seems to be as a "store of wealth". But yeah... that is essentially a total give in to speculation. And it looks a heck of a lot like a ponzi scheme where you don't want to be the last one holding the bag when the bottom drops out.
