Having a secure wallet has been in debate since the Bitcoin was born, but what does it actually mean secure wallet? We all assume that once the wallet has tag open source its all good isn't it? We all assume that open source mean that there is many great, clever coders who review the wallets and make sure everything is fine. But is that the reality?
My friend who as one of Mycelium main developers has substantial experience in wallet security has take on mission to review Android wallets to find out how many of them can at least by checked and verified by the people from outside. The results are more than disturbing.
Please have a look for yourself to his just released project of Wallet Scrutiny
I think we should all wake up to the fact, that most of the wallets are not really being peer review by anyone and save our funds accordingly!
Android is in my opinion not device secure enough to be suitable for having more than your pocket Bitcoin money on. If you are looking for storing more money, you should use hardware wallet.
Keep your Bitcoins safe!
