This is real, it's happening.
The existence of a fungible digital money like Monero is a big deal because Monero is Money and Money is Energy.
We use chemical energy to power our bodies and we use money energy to make things happen in the world outside our bodies, we power the human world with money energy called dollars or euros or pesos. I pay people to cook me food, you probably do too. We pay for work to be done with money because money is energy represented as a stored value. You know this.
With Monero we have a very special phenomenon happening that has -as far as i know- never existed before. We will have a network of energy exchange that is totally private. Only the sender and receiver of the (financial energy unit) Monero will be aware that this transfer is taking place. Digital value exchange that is private is about as revolutionary on the societal level as the blockchain protocol itself.
I'm fascinated to see how to this all will play out. From 2000-2010 we saw digital packetized information networks(the internet) go mainstream and change society. We now have packetized value and a way of hiding it from plain sight via Monero. I have no idea how many far reaching implications this fact allows. All I know is that we're trending up, and not just Monero, the whole cryptocurrency scene. We're accelerating!
If you're familiar with Ray Kurzweil's law of accelerating returns, it has hinted that there should be roughly 20,000 years of technological growth in the 21st century compared to the rate of progress in the last century. I truly believe this will come to pass, and much of this change will be as a direct result of the financial energy from around the world pouring into networks like Bitcoin, Monero, etc. It's possible this new kind of money will fuel technological progress and societal change so immense that none of us can appreciate at the current moment. Nor would we probably believe, even if we were told.
It's really bizarre to watch this whole thing unfold. Somebody hold me.
