I've been thinking a lot about how the world will work once bitcoin and cryptocurrency becomes mainstream. Today I was thinking about how it will effect not onlythe way we live and do business, but animals as well.
I believe highly intelligent animals may see direct benefits in the form of increased autonomy. I read an article a few years ago about street dogs in Russia that learned to navigate Moscow's subway system.
This got me thinking that these animals could learn to use their own crypto wallets. The project would involve attaching a QR code to the street dogs collar. The dog could then accept donations from tourist, sympathetic locals or others. Humans could then feed the dogs (or manage a feeding station) and take a small "miner" fee.
Maybe I'm giving our four legged friends too much credit, but I like to think big and would love to be walking through Moscow one day and see a dog with a collar like this
