Here is a Toplist of Exit Scams in 2018
Bitconnect - #BCC $BCC
- Bitconnects ATH was in December 2017 at 2.910.000.000 USD Market Cap.
- Some days later we dropped to 2.711.750.000 USD, a lot of people cashed out at this point.
- We are currently at 23.200.000 USD now. Thats only 0,86% from the ATH in January.
Bitgrail
Actually we can't speak from an exit scam here. But i thougt it would still fit in here.
Bitgrail had / have a security problem and attackers were able to steal 17 Million Nano.
17 Million Nano are 170.000.000$. Rumors say, Bitgrail is bankrupt now.
Davorcoin - #DAV $DAV
Davorcoin is a "lending" platform with a "guaranteed" ROI of 200%-300%. You guessed right, we know this system from somewhere else (Bitconnneeeect). They had some legal issues in the end and the coin dropped from 180$ to 0.5$ in 2 days. Coinmarketcap don't deliver any further information on the total lost here.
Embercoin - #EMB $EMB
I don't want to spread FUD here, but the CTO dissapeared completly. He left all Discord Channels and deleted his Social Media Accounts. This happened a month ago.
Prodeum - #PLU $PLU
This is the best Exit Scam in my opinion. The Owners from Prodeum had a Softcap of 2100 ETH and a Hardcap of 5400 ETH. At around 18% of the Goal, the Exit Scam started.
~Calculation: 970 ETH * 1000$ / ETH= 970.000$
Funny Fact:
It wasn't enough for the owner to steal your money. They left a little message for you guys:
Confido - #CFD $CFD
Confido collected 375.000$ in their ICO Phase. Right after the ICO, they left with the Money.
Monero Gold - #XMRG $XMRG
Everybody knows Monero, so cheap Monero Gold Tokens were way to good to be left behind. A lot of people bought some, days later the Devs left the Country with your money.
Some 4Chan User left this behind:
Loopx - #LPX $LPX
This one hurts. 276.20 BTC and 2,446.70 ETH were stolen. LoopX is a trading System with guaranteed profits.
The Devs deleted everything and left the Country.
So, what do we learn?
Do yourself a favor and check ICOs at least 5 times before you invest. Hold your earnings on secured wallets on your own computer if you don't plan to sell them soon.
