Good response,, thats a common view and quite understandably so,, but one of the main feature of any blockchain technology is that is a trust-less system based on the fact that it cannot be hacked by anybody. Exchanges can get hacked, companies and individual can get hacked but not bitcoin itself,, nothing on the blockchain can be modified, hence the name crypto-from cryptography. This is the main reason this tech has value, plus the supercomputer aspect of it from the miners,, the list can go on for a long time when start to consider all the problems of inefficiency that it can bring solutions to in society overall. I'm talking about all the blockchain technology,, As for bitcoin itself, I consider that it is now the mothership so to say, to all its underlings, yet I know that is usually the second line the wins the race- the 1st being the inventor- the 2nd picks up the same idea and identifying the flaws of the first,, can come into the game with a certain advantage.
