Local Bitcoins Volume Increases in China

I posted about BTCC closing the other day, and now further exchanges in China have closed their doors.

This has led to a big rise in the number of people using LocalBitcoins in the country, here's an image from the article on Bitcoin.com:

But it isn't just LB that is getting increased use, people have begun using the app WeChat, Telegram, and also a DEX (Decentralised Exchange for the uninitiated) called Airswap to continue buying BTC.

I haven't looked at Airswap yet, so will probably check that out soon...

Bitcoin Exchange Providers May Come Back After the “Cleanup Period” and Licensure

The article says that Chinese based exchanges may return after being licensed, something people have been thinking will happen in light of the China crackdown. I also posted about that on Sunday here.

So, perhaps after lull in the China based Bitcoin market, we could see the return of the Chinese market? I hope, and also believe, that will be the case.
