Jaxx is a free, popular wallet solution. Just go to their site, download the appropriate version for your computer or mobile device, and install it. Jaxx supports a variety of popular cryptocurrencies including, but not limited to: bitcoin, ethereum, ethereum classic, dash, litecoin, zcash and more.
After you've installed it, you can can select Express or Custom setup. I recommend the Custom, it's only a few steps, and it requires you to set the backup/recovery passphrase that you will need if you should lose access to your wallet. This is super important because your wallet is, well, your wallet. You don't want to lose access to it and, if you do, you can recover it with the passphrase.
Jaxx Setup
- Download Jaxx Wallet from jaxx.io
- Install Jaxx
- Open Jaxx.exe
- Select "Create New Wallet"
- Select "Custom" option
- Select BTC for bitcoin - and any other cryptocurrencies you want to store. (They can be added later too.)
- Select USD for US Dollars (or your fiat currency of choice)
- Check "Yes I understand how Jaxx backup works" to create a wallet backup
- Write down the 12 word passphrase that is generated and keep it in a safe place. - DO NOT LOSE THIS - EVER!. You will need it to access your wallet later.
- Enter the passphrase to confirm that you got it right and continue.
- Select and confirm a PIN, if desired. *Highly recommended
- Click on BTC letters/icon at the top of Jaxx, if needed, to display your BTC address
- Click the copy icon next to the long line of letters and numbers to copy your BTC address to the clipboard.
- Save your bitcoin address in a safe place too!
EDIT: Since I cannot delete the original post, I have removed the questionable mining content until I can independently verify its veracity. Apologies if it contained misinformation. Jaxx is solid tho. :)
