Good Morning Bitcoin.
Today is Tuesday July 4, 2017
My name is Thomas Hunt
A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this bitcoin cannot endure, permanently, half segwit and half without. I do not expect the Bitcoin to be dissolved — I do not expect Bitcoin to fall — but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other.
Either the opponents of segwit will arrest the further spread of it, and perhaps drive Bitcoin to its ultimate extinction; or its advocates will push it forward, till it shall become lawful in all of Bitcoin, old as well as new — Bip148 as well as Bip92.
And here’s what’s happening, Today in Bitcoin…
I was going to talk about other stuff, but let’s just go right to the Craig Wright speech. I’m going to play excerpts, but if you’d like to watch the whole thing, the link is in the description below.
Personally, I don’t believe that Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto. I can’t imagine how someone who created something so incredible, could be so angry about it.
And now let’s get to the Highlights.
Wright demands to be able to buy coffee. Not a major problem with the current system, but he seems intent to solve it:
He’s got several angry comments against Rasberry Pi nodes:
He seems to believe that there would be no technical problems with infinite sized blocks, despite the obvious reality that Internet Bandwidth does not follow Moore’s law and then he makes bizarre claims against Greg Maxwell and Blockstream, saying that they conspired with the Australian government against him.
2:34:40 - accuses Maxwell of working with Australian government
Well sure, I’d like to see some proof of that.
He also says, with Satoshian majesty that “he created things, so he gets to choose”, saying that he has an easy fix for scaling and it could be applied in three hours. Which again is easy to say, but hard to actually do. Much like his proof that he is Satoshi, he has said it many times, but only proved it once, and that turned out to be unverifiable.
2:37:18 - Bitcoin is easy to fix, about 3 hours
He seems dictatorial about Bitcoin’s future, even saying that he would like to add in Inflation and implies that he has already patented and owns Sidechains, but that he will release the patents and we should trust him. It’s unclear how releasing these patents would affect Blockstream’s sidechain projects.
2:27:40 - Claims he wants inflation added in? Sidechains are patented, and owned.
He also claims without evidence or governmental structure that Bitcoin is a republic. Never heard this one before:
2:30:50 - Bitcoin is a Republic?
Again without a sense of irony he claims that the Core devs are building walled gardens, not noticing the unreviewed secret code being produced by the Segwit2X team.
He is disgusted with the community. He is an angry man with an aggressive tone telling us to be more optimistic and positive.
But if that’s what you’re looking for in a Satoshi, I’ve got a really long video of an angry man, disgusted with the community, telling us to be more optimistic and positive. Decide for yourself. Link is in the description below.
Meanwhile….
The price of Bitcoin was up 0.58% in the last 24 hours, with a last or 2578, a high of 2621 and a low of 2523.
