ORVIUM'S CONTRIBUTION TO THE SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATION INDUSTRY

Variety the say is the spice of life but I say Science is the field of study that makes life meaningful. Doubt it? Follow up on my blogs and article about Orvium and you will be convinced half-way whiles reading any of my contents.

The contribution of science to humanity and the world is something that cannot be underrated neither overlooked because of the immense impact science has on life and its existence. Many were the belief system that governed this world and the land of Africa harboured a pool of them.

An example of such weird belief was the fact that back in the olden days some people believed that it was an abomination to have twins and during that time one of the twin had to be killed or drown in a river believing that they were sending it back to the gods. Oh yeah, that is how wicked and uninformed things were back here but thanks to the knowledge that has been shared through scientific research and publication you can count a whole lot of twins back in Africa. Kolo Toure and Yaya Toure are blessed to have their lives as a result of the good work of some scientists back then.

SHORTFALLS WITHIN THE SCIENTIFIC INDUSTRY

The Scientific Publication Industry has been compromised over the years though it still offers some contributions to the world. The increasing cost that authors have to bear in order to publish their research work makes it difficult for some young authors to enlighten the community with their work. Many are the process that authors have to go through before their work gets published and this further increases the cost of expenses that users would incur in order to publish their research work.

For instance, before-hand authors would have to either send their work to other superior researchers and colleagues elsewhere for them to review the work. Or better still send it to firms for them to analyze and do all the necessary corrections and make judgements based on their findings.

To compound to the high transactional cost that authors have to bear before their work gets published is an unbiased review system which for some year now has resulted in the publishing of low quality research works. Review system are implemented in the scientific publication industry to help refine the work of authors but because the current review system is biased and does not give out fair and constructive criticisms to the work of authors it tends to generate poor quality research work. Let’s not forget that society feeds on the information that is published in various science journals and so misinforming the public can lead to grave disturbances.

The problems that the Scientific Industry faces are quite numerous but well that is not what we are interested in here but rather to find out possible solution that the Orvium platform wishes to put in place in order make sure that scientific authors have a flexible system publication and also that work that are going to be produced on the Orvium platform would be of high quality.

HOW ORVIUM SOLVES IT ALL

Humanity together with the entire crypto community would be forever grateful to the innovation by Satoshi Nakomoto for inventing the blockchain technology which has been widely accepted by several organizations and institutions. The blockchain technology has some basic features such as security and an organized platform for keeping records on the blockchain ledger system. Orvium seeks to inculcate the blockchain technology into the Scientific Publication System and put in place mechanisms that would bring up the following results:

Affordable transactional cost in Publication

The established decentralized platform of Orvium would get rid of middlemen who only lengthens the chain of upon which the research works of authors are published. The Orvium decentralized platform would bring together several researches across the globe for them to interact with each other and share ideas concerning research works. On this platform authors can put on board their works for other members to review and give comments about the work. The contribution from several researchers from different people with different level of understanding would help bring out a work of high quality for the good of society.

Earning form Peer Reviewing

Authors who engage in peer reviewing articles which have been submitted unto the Orvium platform by other researchers would earn the native ORV Token which is going to be generated after their comments and judgements are accepted. This reward system would serve as a form of incentive to motivate authors to help in making contributions unto the Orvium platform. This peer review system would go a long way to bring out the best in research work that the Scientific Publication industry would bring out to the world.

Full ownership of Research by Authors

Initially the unflexible system of the Scientific Publication Industry makes some scientific authors relinquish their license rights to some publication industry for these publication industries to come out with all the rights and terms regarding the research work. This would also go a long way and make researchers have a sense of fullness upon their contribution towards the Scientific Publication Industry.
