The competitive online brawler Light Trail Rush is moving into open beta on Monday June 22nd. Every gamer with a Steam account will be able to give the game a try in its current form. Game studio B2Expand announced the open beta on Wednesday. The game has been in closed alpha and beta testing for the past nine months.
Opening up the beta to more players could provide a nice testing ground for the developers. Light Trail Rush is an online competitive brawler in which players need to collect points by making each other crash. The one leading the pack is drawing the road, creating a challenge for the other players that are following. Those who are following are bumping into each other, collecting points that way.
Light Trail Rush is expected to launch onto Steam Early Access later this year. The French game studio didn't communicate an exact release date yet. Most likely this will happen in July at the earliest. The open beta for Light Trail Rush will continue at least until the launch of the game on Steam Early Access.
Many updates for Light Trail Rush
In the past four months Light Trail Rush has gone through many changes. The game is now graphically much prettier thanks to an upgraded Unity engine. In addition the game features a system for experience points and allows players to unlock cosmetic options.
The studio is also selling premium skins through their own shop hosted on Opensea. These are very limited edition, but can only be used for vanity purposes. The skins don't provide any gameplay advantages. Besides the skins, there are also holograms. These are comparable with the way the decorations work in games like Rocket League.
The team has been teasing many more features. For example, they want to host a competition within their game that allows competitors to win real prizes. In addition it's highly likely that more customization options will be added to the game.
