Game studio Pixelmatic is working on a science fiction MMORPG Infinite Fleet and is launching a security token offering to raise funding. The Chinese-Canadian company is working with venture capital platform Stokr to raise money for its upcoming game. However, they have not announced when the token sale will commence.
Stokr is an investment platform where verified investors can back all kinds of projects. Currently the platform supports for example mobility app ParkinGo, a cannabis producer called Blue Sky, and Infinite Fleet. This game is described as a 'socially-focused epic sci-fi MMORTS online strategy game'.
Pixelmatic has developers working on the game that have experience in the strategy genre. They've worked on titles like Age of Empires 4, Dawn of War and Homeworld. Samson Mow is heading the studio, as well as blockchain company Blockstream.
“A lot of video games are doing the same thing over and over but just with better graphics. The world is changing rapidly and companies must adapt and innovate. Infinite Fleet will be an innovative IP, and it will be the first proper video game to truly bring together gaming and cryptoassets.”
Samson Mow, Creator of Infinite Fleet
What is Infinite Fleet?
In Infinite Fleed the player is a commander within the United Sol Federation Combined Fleet. This military organisation needs to defeat an alien threat. Behind every choice are deeper choices, which allow for a narrative driven by the players. As a result the game allows players to build and customise their fleet, secure territories, and move into space. You can play the game alone, but according to the developers coop gameplay is the best.
Infinite Fleet players earn reward tokens for taking part in in-game events. In addition players can trade in-game digital items using their reward tokens.
