Did Arun Jaitley, the Indian finance minister really say he would ban bitcoin??? The fake new media is at it again trying to manipulate the price of Bitcoin. According to qz.com, "Finance minster Arun Jaitley, in his budget speech today (Feb. 01), stated that the government will do everything to discontinue the use of bitcoin and other virtual currencies in India".
However this is not true according to the statement from the Indian finance minister. His direct quote was this:
“The government does not recognise cryptocurrency as legal tender or coin and will take all measures to eliminate the use of these cryptoassets in financing illegitimate activities or as part of the payments system”
What that simply means is that the Indian government is simply trying to find ways to stop cryptocurrencies from being used to facilitate illicit activity, so there is no bitcoin ban in the works!
In fact he even stated that block-chain technology will be a key part of Indian payment systems for the future.
Why would India all of a sudden ban bitcoin when one in every ever ten bitcoin bitcoin transactions happen in India? Its obviously a huge part of their economy.
Another instance of the fake news media trying to twist the news to lower the price of bitcoin. Do not fall for it people!
