Just in case you didn’t know, the very first real-world purchase using Bitcoin was to purchase two large Papa John’s pizzas for 10,000 BTC in 2010 - that would mean in today's terms that individual paid $25.3 million for those pizzas.
What makes this story even more interesting is the fact that Papa Johns didn’t accept Bitcoin at the time, nor did any other mainstream retailer. This means he coaxed someone to buy him two pizzas in exchange for 10,000 BTC. Today, you can pay for Subway sandwiches and a lot of other things using Bitcoin.
It took a long time before people actually woke up and could see the potential of cryptocurrencies. But that is mostly the fault of double-spending that tarnished the reputation of cryptocurrencies. Nevertheless, all that was halted thanks to a great new technology called blockchain.
The cryptocurrency Bitcoin solved this problem in 2009. It uses a system called proof-of-work, which doesn’t need a trusted third party to timestamp transactions. Bitcoin instead records these timestamps in a public ledger called the blockchain.
A lot of people have read a little on this topic but, as I have in the past, given up trying to figure it all out thanks to complex tech jargon that leaves you with a headache. Nevertheless, there are people out there who are trying to simplify the understanding of Bitcoin and blockchain for the average person. One such man, Founder of Amaze Mining and Research Limited, based in India, Amit Bhardwaj, has just published a groundbreaking e-book entitled Cryptocurrency for Beginners that explains everything you need to know about cryptocurrency and blockchain. The ebook can be purchased for only $24.
Bhardwaj said in an interview recently, "Blockchain and cryptocurrencies are set to transform the world with their efficient solutions. However, the promise and power of cryptocurrencies remain to be unleashed meaningfully - as limited awareness across stakeholder categories plays spoilsport. My book has a simple objective - making the readers realize that blockchain is just like the internet or a motorbike - one doesn't need to know the underlying technology to use it. The book empowers readers with requisite knowledge of the concept of blockchain and helps them appreciate its massive potential."
Mr. Bhardwaj clearly explains the most important aspects of Bitcoin in his e-book: how cryptocurrencies work, how secure they are, the practical use of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies around the world, regulations governing them and basics of cryptocurrency mining and trading, along with what the future looks like for it.
Amit Bhardwaj is a well known and highly respected figure in India and throughout Asia for his knowledge and leadership in the world of cryptocurrencies. In India, especially, he is seen as a Guru on the topic. This is because as early as 2009 (when Bitcoin was first revealed) he was already actively pursuing knowledge about it. In 2010, he was running an online store that accepting Bitcoin as payment for goods. This places Mr. Bhardwaj at the head of his time on this topic.
