Less than 2 days when reaching the $9,000 mark, the worldwide average bitcoin worth has punctured the five-figure barrier, rising to a replacement uncomparable high of $10,069, in line with CoinMarketCap.
Though on the face of it a psychologically-significant barrier, the bitcoin worth cruised through $10,000 with relative ease, a way completely different situation than once it clawed past $5,000 earlier this year.
The rally has been nearly single-handed oxyacetylene by unsated demand from Korean traders. At the time of writing, BTC/USD pairs were still commerce close to $9,900, and Western traders appeared hesitant to cross into five-figure territory. However, BTC/KRW was commerce on top of $10,800 on each Bithumb — the second highest-volume bitcoin exchange — and Coinone, the seventh highest-volume exchange. At this rate, it's conceivable that BTC/KRW might crack the $11,000 mark before USD pairs see $10,000.
