The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has revealed its stance on digital currencies like bitcoin, at a time when it’s developing a legal and regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies in the country. The deputy head of Ukraine’s central bank, Oleg Chury, has revealed that the NBU will not recognize cryptocurrencies like bitcoin as currencies. The official was speaking at the Ukrainian Financial Forum when he also claimed that cryptocurrencies will not be recognized as a legal method of payment in Ukraine, unlike Japan.
