In this video Roger Ver talks about how Bitcoin is pumping due to everyone hearing about cryptocurrency, and not really understanding that there are other options besides Bitcoin!
He also talks about Bitcoin transactions (since 2016) that cost $5 if not more!
I have experienced this first hand spending $10+ for a small transaction..
This seems to be increasing everytime, and at this point I wish I could trade my Bitpay card for a Litecoin card.
So as far as peer-to-peer transactions $5 fees do not seem realistic for everyday purchases..
For example, if you want to tip $1 in Bitcoin to a street musician with his QR code, or even sending a small village in Africa a few dollars to donate to help fund a water well being drilled in high drought areas.. It is not possible!
So obviously micropayments are going to be a huge issue, but currently you can send small amounts of STEEM for free, and I'm excited to see how that scales once we get more users!
