Bithump, Korea's biggest trading platform for Cryptocurrency, has become the victim of a hacker attack. It reported the South Korean News Agency Yonhap. Here, the customer data from 30,000 users in the hands of the unknown assailant should have fallen. The hackers could gain access via the private computer of an employee.
After matching reports in local media, at least some users of also Bitcoins should have lost in the attack. The exact amount of the losses remains unclear. Bithump wants all users, for which personal data were stolen, pay compensation to 100,000 won. This corresponds to almost 76 euros currently. In addition, the provider wants to pay also compensation for any loss of the Bitcoin.
