The fact that there was the first Atomic Swap yesterday is another huge breakthrough for cryptocurrencies in general and bitcoin in particular. In my mind, this makes the idea that it is money more viable.

As for the USD, I disagree that it will go extinct because of the raising of the debt ceiling. They have been doing this for a long time and the USD is still with us. This is an instrument that will be around for years. Fiat isnt going anywhere, it just has competition now (or soon will).
