Read the white paper. Bitcoin is peer to peer electronic cash not digital gold. Segwit makes any future block size increase cost 2 to 4x more due to the technical debt it brings. After segwit bitcoin will never be able to scale on chain properly. Do some research on it and do not believe blockstream or the core devs.
