Well, we've all heard the news today. I don't want to hear any "I told you so's," because, well, that's just mean. I did have my suspicions about Bitconnect, which is why I only deposited money to lend once, and early on stopped reinvesting. I just took most of my interest money out only the other day (my capital still had a long way to go). I was not one of those who made their money back and then some. But I didn't lose a fortune either, thank God.
However, I did want my money back - at least as much of it as I could get. And the clock is ticking. They've cashed us all out into BCC, closed the exchange, and are shutting it all down in 5 days. So I'm up at midnight logging in as soon as possible today (it was closed all of yesterday) and figuring out how to rescue what I can.
I went to YouTube for help and the first thing I clicked on was a 15 minute long video. Five minutes into it I had already figured it out myself, as he was just starting to stop explaining and get to the solution. So I thought, hell, I can help other freaked out people in less than half the time. So I set up Quicktime, recorded me saving my BCC, uploaded to YouTube, and voilà, here you go. Go save what you can. Scroll down past the video for my text-planation.
In brief, here's what you need to do.
Either: Go to bitconnect.com and download their desktop wallet to transfer your BCC to. OR go to an exchange like HitBTC.com that supports BCC. Once there, click on the Deposit button in the upper right corner and look for BCC. Click on deposit, get your address, and then...
Go to your wallet in bitconnect.co . Scroll down to "send BCC." Paste in the address to your wallet or your exchange (in this case, HitBTC). Follow the directions, keep hitting buttons until it sends. You'll get a confirmation email that it's been sent.
And yay! Personally, I'm going to hold my little scrap of BCC and see if it recovers at all after all the hoopla dies down. Never know.
