I discovered Bitcoin and crypto currencies by watching youtube. By one of those youtube creators, this one was called Craig Grant. I befriended him by my comments on his daily video blogs he posted and he even acknowledge me as a friend at one time.
I followed him on all his investing ideas into crypto and that is how i found out about Steemit. I was very excited to gain a new hobby and at the same time invest into new opportunities. Before Bitconnect, Craig was pushing really hard Genesis mining and of course i bought into that myself (bad idea) well now i know i could had made more holding Bitcoin. But that was okay, i learned my lesson so i thought. Then Craig (my friend) started promoting Bitconnect before anyone had and idea of what this program was all about. I was skeptical at this point only because i fell once for that Genesis Mining type of scheme. So i held off for few months. Then of course Craig started promoting it heavily and i figure okay lets do this. But i will do it in a way that i profited myself from my own referral. So what i ended up doing was i signed up to the program (Bitconnect) i created two accounts and i would use my own referral code to gain commissions from my own reinvestments. It worked out great for me....however my own greed to reinvest my profits to gain more ...was when i kinda messed up. I never reached my capital release dates.
Now, this is the part where i know Craig knew what he was doing when promoting this scam. On various live youtube broadcast from his channel. I had wrote a comment to his viewers. I told them, hey people refer your own selves to gain from your own investments into Bitconnect. ("use your own referral codes") of course Craig responded are you Fucking crazy Paco! and then he proceed to mute my comments and expressed - "this cat doesn't get it he is fucking stupid". Guess i was interrupting his sells pitch to the public. I wish i would had saved that video now.
Were i failed with getting involved in Bitconnect was following the wrong people for advice. Also, the fact that i powered down my steemit to fund my Bitconnect venture. If i had only held my Steem tokens I would had profited more. Reminds me of when i spend over 12 bitcoins to gain a bit of hash power for a year from Genesis mining Zcash contract that has now expired. If i had only held my Bitcoins.
I would had loved to get back my capital release from Bitconnect with the amount lend in USD. To fund back my Steemit account to continue helping users from Venezuela, Colombia and Central America to continue spreading this wonderful technology and to let them know that in the near future there will be no need to leave their countries to pursued a better life elsewhere for themselves and their families. I believe Steemit will be that solution.
