The largest mining pool of Bitcoin, BTC.com, broadens its horizons by integrating Ether (Ethereum - ETH) and Ethereum Classic (ETC) into its mining department.
The world's largest Bitcoin mining pool adds ETH and ETC to its service
BTC.com has generated (mined) 21% of new Bitcoin in the last 12 months. He has now opened a new Ethereum mining pool.
This new pool will support ETH and ETC, allowing users to switch between the two crypto-currencies to make their investment profitable.
BTC.com is one of two mining pools owned by ASIC mining equipment manufacturer Bitmain. In addition, the new pools will include graphics processor (GPU) extraction options, even though Bitmain has already launched its first ASIC dedicated to Ethereum earlier this year.
Zhuang Zhong, the director of BTC.com's mining pool, said:
"Because contracts are billed per line of code executed and miners are rewarded for dedicated hashes using GHOST, lthereum provides multiple different incentives to contribute to the hash power of the network. "Among other things, this is an effort to "help Ethereum to evolve its mining infrastructure. ""We hope to expand the Ethereum network by relaying these awards through our FPPS system. By competing to provide the best profit margins and product development, we expect mining operations to reach 12% of the total ETH hash over the next 12 months. "
Broad ambitions
Zhong said in its statement that the decision to offer GPU resources would also be aimed at remedying the downward trend of prices on the crypto-market of 2018. Addressing Coindesk, he said:"GPU miners are versatile, always profitable and not easily replaceable in a bear market. It is common for miners to divide the investment in two. "A broader perspective of BTC.com concerns the launch of the possibility of undermining other "popular crypto-currencies" such as Litecoin, Zcash and Monero. However, no concrete plan has been disclosed so far.
The service should take into account the digital token network, the quality of its code, its development roadmap and its daily trading volume.
