Over the past couple weeks my steem friend and I have been saving and exchanging steem in order to accumulate BitShares. Here is a brief summary.
The BitShares account "nelson-hunt" now holds 1000 bts and 2 bitSilver : https://cryptofresh.com/u/nelson-hunt
Ronaldo sent 22 steem to my account and the exchange was made with Rudex into bts. At an exchange rate of about 10 bts: 1 steem that yields 220 bts. Or roughly 1/5 of the bts in "nelson-hunt". Here is where things get interesting . By combining our steem/bts we can create something greater than the sum its parts. We can do many things with bts: voting in shareholder elections or even lending money to others in our communities with smart contracts.
Remember the public bank posts and discussion? Imagine a public bank but without a formal government running things. Any enterprise, including the provision of monetary services (banking) can be improved if it's directly owned by and operated for the benefit of its owners. Thank you for making helping to make nelson-hunt reality. I will match any future steem contributions and I look forward to growing this project to new heights. Especially including hearing your thoughts on the potential (confusion/clarity) of this endeavor.
