Hello steemians!
In an unexpected turn of events John Gotts, the leader of the Bitcoin Latina project, has turned rogue.
Few hours ago, John has decided that he wasn't pleased with how things were going with BCL and transfered a currently unknown but very large amount of BCL from several investors' and holders' wallets back to his own.
He explained it by his suspicion of an illegal market making activity performed by the BCL insiders and also by his disappointment with the people who sold BCL for cheap prices.
Illegal activity or not, this is not how things are done in crypto. Not only this move shows a completely centralized nature of BCL, where anything could happen with your money if the Grand Leader woke up in a bad mood, but it also is a crime. People paid their money for these coins and Gotts just stole them, plain and simple.
Stan, Michael and Jared Rice are among the victims of this disaster.
Not only did John stole the investors' money, he also took the BCL that was on Jared's frozen account, which the feds have the access to. The funds on this account are allowed to be spent on living expenses only, which is exactly what Jared was doing - selling some BCL to be able to buy a cheeseburger. But Gotts didn't like that, he wanted everyone to pump the price and hold, so he stole money from the account controlled by the feds.
Currently the BCL leader bans everyone who dares asking questions on the BCL telegram chat.
Stan went on to say that John Gotts is done:
The BCL community remains somewhat supportive to Gotts in their telegram, but the real amount of support is impossible to gauge because every negative comment gets deleted in a matter of seconds.
Personally I would recomend dumping every BCL while it still has any value.
I really feel sorry for the investors.
Stay safe.
Cheers!
