In 2015 people from Òdena, in Ctalunya Spain suffered a huge fire in their mountains. Enven if the justice says it was non intentional, everybody knows 'someone' put fire in the hills to open new land to explore. 1235 hectares turned into ashes, dead trees and animals...So much pain for the citizens who love their land.
But then, one of the firemen who fought agains the fire, pissed off with the situation, recollected all the dead burned tree trunks he coould; he brought them to the top of a burned hill and raised 200 CROSSES with his own bare hands. 5 years later, the crosses are still there. Every time I see them my hair stands on end.
The first picture was made using a 1953 post WW2 Graflex Camera and large format 4x5in film. I used yellow filter to get the clouds in place. No digital maniputation. Just classic real photography done on site.
The second picture was made with a 1974 Hasselblad and medium format film. By the way, the mountain you can see in the background is called Montserrat. on of the most famous tourist sites in Spain.
