This is the question that haunts me whenever i tell someone about Steemit and start explaining to them that they need followers to get more Upvotes and Views
Every blogger in the World today, irrespective of race or gender desires one thing above all
They want someone to listen
It does not matter about the size of their blog, whether they have an Audience of 5 or 5000, a blogger is seeking an audience that will listen and engage with what they are saying
This need is greatly amplified here on Steemit because it is what brings the rewards every blogger on Steemit desires
I tell prospective Steemians that all they need is to find that first follower, then that one listener can become five and then ten and before they know it they will be writing their 100 followers milestone post
So how do You find that Willing listener
An engaged audience will happily come back to you even after you have sent them elsewhere with a " 10 Steemians You Should Follow " post like Hive account@stevec does or show them Hidden Jemslike Hive account@lpfaust does, because they already love what you are blogging about, but how do you get them in the first place
There Is No Set Path
There is no set path to achieve that engaged audience that every Steemian dreams of
There is no set of rules or principles, or 3-step process, What works for one blogger may not work for another
This means you have to put in the work and find out what works out best for you
You may find out that writing cathchy headlines work for you, another blogger may find out that putting a well designed banner at the end of every post does the trick
To get Followers and an Engaged Audience is something you have to figure out by yourself
Tips On How To Get Followers
These tips are what i have found out that has been helping me along the way
Write Wantable Content
Bloggers love the freedom to write whatever they Want, this is one of the reasons people love Steemit because there are not any form of censorship
Writing on anything is not bad, but when you are trying to attract and audience, it makes sense to create content thatis likely to attract an audience
In my early days in Steemit, i struggled to find out what works for me, I have written post that people have asked for and it was successful
I have also written post on what I wanted to write about and people still praised me for being original
With Content there are no set rules, the main thing is to ensure that your content is interesting and engaging
.
Engage With Others
I have had people follow me just because I left a thoughtful comment on their Post
Post engagement is something most people desire, but they always fail to give it to others
If you want to know more about post engagement, I wrote a Whole Post on it.
You also have to expand your reach and meet with other bloggers outside your niche, this will enable you get a variety of views on different subjects and help improve the quality of your posts
To Conclude
Like i said before there is no set path to getting followers, I can give you much more advice or recommend resources for you to get, but it ultimately wouldn't matter
You have to discover your own path
Your blog and Your audience are your own, and no one can tell you how best to grow them
