For the very first time, the ARTIS team had the honor of introducing the ARTIS Blockchain to a broader audience. On April 11, 2018, the Ethereum-based Blockchain was presented to over 100 attendees at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
The evening was opened and hosted by Nikolaus Jilch (Die Presse). Shermin Voshmgir PhD, the head of the Research Institute for Cryptoeconomics at the WU Vienna held her keynote speech about the Blockchain – today and tomorrow.
Next, Thomas Zeinzinger, chairman of the lab10 collective eG, took the stage to tell the story of how ARTIS came about, and he presented the entire ARTIS team. Amaliny Hasselbeck (ARTIS representative) and Dietmar Hofer (CTO) introduced themselves and their involvement in the project. (You can watch all of Amaliny's videos in our series "All Things ARTIS")
Bernhard Wladkowski then gave a detailed presentation of the ARTIS Blockchain, its unique features and benefits. He also took visitors through the ARTIS roadmap.
Based on those theoretical insights, the first real life use cases for ARTIS were presented: Thomas Schwarzl from the MakerSpace Graz did an ARTIS Demo on how Streems can be used for example to pay for parking, renting, and charging an e-car.
Andreas Schneemann from act4.energy gave the audience insights into how he is working on implementing charging stations and planning to use ARTIS and the blockchain technology in his innovation lab.
After the presentation, interested guests could ask questions and meet ARTIS team members at the three tables that were prepared: Invest & Legal & Tax, Tech & Dev, and Use Cases, all while enjoying drinks and dinner.
The event was a great success, and it was encouraging to see the big interest ARTIS has created in the Austrian blockchain space.
