There is a chance that ‘Blockchain’ will not ultimately be the apotheosis of decentralization, but instead that of absolute centralization. For this hypothesis, here is my high octane speculation:
Blockchain might not be the opening of a closed system, but the complete crystallization of the latter in an context absent of ‘agency’. If omni-implemented in society with a self-governed protocol, we are essentially enabling a proxy pseudo-reality to impose and govern over our own; without 'it' even being conscious of the ‘phenomena’ we call ‘reality’. It is not ’self-aware’ or aware of ‘phenomena’, and it has no ‘agency’, but still ‘acts’ over such.
In synthesis it would be a ‘protocol’ that processes data in conform to the interpretation of itself as ‘protocol’, by imposing the language of Logic as the sole ‘reality’ translator or encoder, and having no entity outside of itself with power to say otherwise. This seems a naive reduction of ‘reality’ and the ‘agency’ of ‘self-awareness’ into an automated, unconscious and logically-confined grid, that dictates over and about the former.
Have not the Logic Positivists already fallen into disillusion over Godel’s legacy?
Hence to my eyes, unless there is a kind of ‘exo-protocol’ governance with major restrain and disenchantment in implementation, this has not the seeds to release us from our errors and misconceptions about ‘reality’, but instead to confine us to a categorical one.
Ps: What if Quantum Computing and IoT somehow blend with it, in a hybrid 'Bloch-Sphere-Chain' (not Block) of 'in-protocol' governance? Skynet?
