I have finally beaten the flu, for the most part, it was only bad for a few days then it just lingered FOREVER! I have to say it was one of the most productive sick time I have ever had. I spent most of the time diving into front-end developing, HTML, CSS and a little javascript. The studying has yielded great results and changed my current direction in life dramatically. More on that latter...
and I attended a meetup in Oakland. This was my first time in downtown Oakland. I was excited because the people I have met involved in the blockchain in Oakland are putting all of their time into looking at revolutionary ways to empower impoverished people. I am excited about the blockchain for the same reasons. We have such a powerful tool for the first time I can imagine solutions to world problems that pre blockchain I had no hope.
We arrived early, it is hard to park in the city and we were driving the RV (a funny thing the little RV gets better gas mileage than our car) We walked around the harbor, it was a beautiful day. Then we saw it...
Home Of Chicken And Waffles
I was so excited I forgot to take any pictures.
It was so good! I rarely allow myself to gorge myself on comfort food which made it even more delicious. Our server reminded me of Ice Cube, Awesome. It was my most enjoyable dinner of the year, buttery grits, waffles and crispy chicken of my dreams. The decor was as wonderful as its food. Metallic blue sparkly both seats, a large round bar, orange carpet. If you are ever in Oakland you must try it! You can thank me for the experience latter.
We decided to walk around until the meetup time to try to wake up from the food coma we just threw ourselves into.
The meetup was great, met some amazing steemians I hope to make real-life friends. One was a beautiful web developer named Judy with tons of energy and humor. The speaker Brandon had so much knowledge and ideas that will change the world. has been posting the video of this event if you are interested in it.
It has become so apparent that the future is hanging on this new technology and if enough people with good humanitarian focus's we can start changing the worlds paradime together. I thought the way to help people was getting them back to nature, but now I am starting to think that it is here on the blockchain, doing good things because we are properly incentivized. I am so excited to start participating. I am currently figuring out how I am going to do that.
