The Singapore government, not the most radical institution in the world, just published their last and final report on their experimentation with distributed ledgers.
The Singapore government will probably be moving ahead with growing the distributed ledger technologies in several areas of finance, and might even support digital currencies. I don't think twill be moving ahead with the model of creating digital currencies themselves directly to citizens, though, at least not in the very near future. But in a few decades, why not.
