Abra, a leading financial services and technology company which operates an all-in-one cryptocurrency wallet and exchange app has made an announcement that bitcoin buyers may now use Visa and Mastercard credit or debit cards worldwide to purchase bitcoins. The purchase can be made at abra.com or via the Abra app which can be downloaded for free.
Abra has gone into partnership with Simplex for this latest offering. Simplex provides bitcoin exchanges, brokers and wallet applications with a platform to sell bitcoins via a credit or debit card.
This will be very welcome news to the cryptocurrency world at large and especially in Africa where Bitcoin and digital currency investors have often found it hard to acquire the precious currency. More often than not, they have had to rely on third parties to buy these currencies. Though available worldwide, there are still certain countries who are currently not included in this srevice. Please check on Abra's website at https://www.abra.com to see if your county is on the list.
The good thing about Abra's new product is that even people who don't have wallets with Abra can now purchase bitcoins to their external wallets. The process itself is a very simple one. You just enter the number of Bitcoins you want to purchase and the system will automatically calculate the amount that you have to pay. You then enter your credit or debit card details and you are on your way to receive your bitcoins in 20-30 minutes.
Some benefits of this products are as follows:
- You can now buy bitcoins in the range of $50 - $20,000 at a time.
- Buyers can choose to either transfer their bitcoins directly to their external wallets or to an Abra wallet. The Abra wallet supports 24 altcoins and 50 fiat currencies.
- Purchase transactions are normally completed within 20-30 minutes.
Though still new and untested, this looks to be a very promising product and might solve a lot of problems that I have discussed previously. Time will tell if they have got it right where others have failed.
