My entry for the Blockchainmusic Challenge #6 "Video Games". I always wanted to try making a low-bitrate piece that somewhat emulates the sound of old video game consoles with a catchy theme with a mildly annoying but captivating hook to it.
Proudly produced in Bitwig 2.3 using mostly Bitwig's native synthesizers, bitcrushers and a lot of midi work and EQ'ing. One of the challenges this theme brought with it was to use effects only sparingly and to keep it very dry and simple as consoles back in the day were not capable of much sound quality delivery or fancy gimmicks.
It was an absolute blast doing this track! If you have the song stuck in your head now, I'm sorry - it comes with the territory. Needless to say if you ever need a soundtrack of this kind for your own game please shoot me a message and I would be thrilled to help you out <3
