Throughout history, there has always been young and gifted young players with a specific skillset that makes them look as if they are destined to leave a mark. A lot of this promising players are left behind as years go by, some of them get blinded by money, to some of them fame gets the best of them, other can´t just focus on their career or maybe the world of football is too big for them.

Many young players went from promising to diappointing in a matter of months... sad stories where a kid got lost due to lack of discipline or a weak mind. Some renowned people in the football world have a saying: Football is about 10% talent and 90% hardwork and effort.

As it happens every 4 years, there´s a lot of young talented players that will make their debut in Russia. Most of this players will have the chance this summer to show themselves in a world class apparel and it will be completely up to them to decide what they want for their future.

Some of these players are already a reference on big European teams meanwhile some others are starting to have a serious role on their team, becoming an essential part on the collective play of their team, which is why we analyzed the 32 national teams and came up with this list: The top 12 promising young players.

6- HIRVING LOZANO (Mexico)

This 22 year old mexican left midfielder rapidly became Mexico´s hope to trascend on this world cup. In the summer of 2017, he passed into history as PSV Eindhoven´s most expensive transaction and with reason, he was the team´s top scorer - 17 goals and 8 asists in 30 games - and PSV was the league Champion; statistically, he was the best player of the Dutch Eredvisie that year but the official winner was Santiago Arias, Lozano´s teammate. There´s a big chance that after this world cup, Hirving moves on to one of the big teams in Europe, unless he has a disastrous performance in the summer, which we highly doubt.

5- TIMO WERNER (Germany)

He made his debut in Germany´s Stuttgart and even though he didn´t scored a lot of goals, his contribution to the team´s attack made him stand out and become one of Germany´s promising players, which encouraged the RP Leipzig to include him in a long term proyect with a lot of other young players. His progress has been as good as expected and he already played a Champions League and a UEFA League with Lepzig, a team that is unlikely to be able to keep him much longer because Timo already won the Confederations Cup in 2017 with Germany´s national team... big things are waiting for Werner after the world cup.

Young Werner has an extremely acute 6th sense for scoring and for positioning himself when his team atacks, he is a great kicker and his speed is out of this world; all of these qualities put him as the first option to replace Robert Lewandoski in Bayern Munich next season. Due to the tactic system that Germany plays with, he may not start every game but we are sure he will play a key role in the Teuton offensive game.

4- GONCALO GUEDES (Portugal)

Since he started playing for Benfica, people could already tell he was a very talented player player that would disrupt the main European leagues in a near future; Goncalo was bought by PSG and was loaned to the Spanish Valencia in search of play time. Yet, the outcome was even better than just play time and Guedes played a key role for Valencia´s 2017 - 2018 season where they classified to the UEFA Champions League as Spains 4th place.

Such was the appreciation from Balencia towards the 21 year old young player that scored 5 goals and asisted 11 times, that the team is going to try and buy him before the world cup, knowing that its very possible that he has an amazing performance in the torunament and his price will rise to an unreachable amount for the Spanish team.

3- GABRIEL JESUS (Brazil)

Born in Palmeiras FC, this 21 year old player is currently an indisputable starter - when he is not injured - in the current Premier League´s champion: Manchester city. With La selecao do Brasil his consolidation moment was during Rio de Janeiro´s Olympics in 2016, a tournament that prior to its start had the Brazilian team full of doubts and fears after the 2014 world cup final against Germany; redemption came for Gabriel and his team and they won the gold medal, the only trophy that Brazil hadn´t won yet, and all of this in front of their people.

Gabriel Jesus is a natural scorer and he is lethal in front of the 3 posts... if you add to that that he´ll be playing side by side with Neymar and they both have great chemistry between each other and you have a very dangerous offensive for Brazil.

For a player already based in Europe, the real challenge for this high scorer is to become that lethal #9 that the Canarinha has been missing for the past few world cups, since Ronaldo left in 2002.

2-MARCO ASCENCIO (Spain)

This 22 year old spanish player that owns the left midfield stands out because of his amazing contributions and much needed goals in important matches with Real Madrid... day after day, he proves to be the better man for the position, toping Gareth Bale.

Despite his young age, he is ready to be a Real Madrid starter - or any big European team for that matter - but he is still to become and undeniable starter with the Spanish national team. Born in the Mallorca´s inferior league he moved on to Espanyol, and then to Zinedine zidane´s Madrid. He is definitely the future of the Spanish offensive, he just needs to keep his commitment and game level like he is right now.

1-KYLLIAN MBAPPE (France)

Reaching a Champions League final match and winining the French League La Ligue 1 being only 17 years old is something most players can´t match; today, at 19 yrs old Mbappe is the second most expensive transfer in the history of football (180 MM Euros) but it´s definitely worth it, with all his achievemnt history at such a young age.

Mbappe already plays the leading role in the PSG´s offensive game and, unlike Neymar, this young man seems imprevious to injuries. He is already a starte in his national team and to be honest, nobody misses Karim Benzema when you have Mbappe to keep the offense running. Despite him playing a lot using the dside lanes, this player can play the center forward without any problems and his gamestyle is so complete he is already a serious contender to win the Balo d´Or sometime in the near future. He is still 19 years old, so he is still considered a promising player in theory, but in real life, he is already REAL.
