Sometimes I wish parenting is as easy as cooking. Just follow the recipe and steps and voila, a meal is done.
Parenting, it is so complicated. Haha. Not in a bad way to me, but super entertaining.
Back when I only had one child, my eldest, he only loved purple dragonfruit. Not the white one. He said plain and tasteless. Okay, fine, I would search for purple one for him.
Gradually, I was used to buying the purple one.
Now, with the second boy came along, he also followed his big brother, the love for purple dragonfruit. Things were easy because I just need to buy purple dragon fruit.
One day...
One day...
While I presented the cut purple dragon fruit to the eldest...
"Purple one? I thought is white one?"
"Mummy thought all along you only eat the purple one?"
"Suddenly, I change. I feel like eating the white one."
So now, I have to bear in mind this — white for the eldest, purple for the second.
And I bought two types, felt satisfied that at last I knew how to distinguish them. Purple ones are roundish. White ones are taller elongatish (own's vocabulary).
Then, the 2nd one suddenly came to me and said, "I also suddenly change, I only eat the white one from now on."
What?!
So I said to them...
"Mummy change too. From now on, I buy whatever there is, and we all eat what we bought. Easy peasy!"
