Dear readers, the subject of the environment has always been of great importance to humanity, we live in an ecosystem, Therefore, it must be ensured that the natural processes that are carried out on the planet can develop in total normality so that future generations can continue to perpetuate themselves without any problems. In the same way the professional of the agricultural production has to take care of an ecosystem that is integrated by the plants and animals, therefore, he must take charge of managing efficiently the resources of the agro-ecosystem without polluting or altering it, to improve production and meet the agri-food needs of the population.
In that sense, among the threats with which human beings have to deal is the destruction of the ozone layer, the increase in temperature due to the excessive use of products with gases that play a fundamental role in regulating the temperature in the earth, but as the accumulation of these gases has increased, it has caused increased temperature and environmental imbalances such as tornadoes, hurricanes, intense droughts and floods, the loss of biodiversity in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems due to high pollution can also be observed, with agriculture being one of the main causes of these effects due to the excessive use of pesticides.
In the previous paragraphs it is evident the decadence that is going through the natural spaces because of excessive exploitation of resources, currently in my role as teacher in the profession of agronomic engineering, I have been able to show that some contents are still outdated from the current reality that our ecosystems traverse, for a long time agriculture has been treated with mechanical methods without taking into account that agroecosystems vary from one another, with different soil types and different climatic conditions, therefore, there is no single recipe for improving system conditions, I have had the opportunity to observe some professionals of the area make indications to the producers without having diagnosed the farm, only consider the cultivation of the last farm and give their recommendations based on synthetic pesticides.
In the same vein, synthetic pesticides will no doubt increase yields rapidly, but will progressively destroy the biodiversity of the agricultural system, which is the only and most valuable thing the producer has, and if that were not enough, it is free, Why don’t we see it that way? , because we have not been educated for it, in the current contents of agronomy studies must integrate curricular units such as: systems management, agroecology, sustainable development among others that can be managed simultaneously with conventional agriculture of chemicals, the idea is not to replace synthetic products, the idea is not to make us dependent on them and reduce their use that causes so much damage to the environment.
Dear readers, I hope the arguments put forward can be understood, because the idea is for the agronomist to know that he can be a part of the planet’s sustainability by applying innovative ecological practices in line with natural processes, It should also be clear to the Commission that any living organism which survives depends on the dynamic relations it has with its environment, therefore an artificial system is not sustainable, because the harmony of its component parts is lost, In simple words we cannot be the ones who break the natural laws that govern us to satisfy our greed.
I hope the article was to your liking, my approach is agricultural because it is my professional area, I would like to know what you think about it from your professional area.
