I've been competitive my entire life. I used to love non organized team sports, primarily basketball ("streetball") There wasn't any team "pride" or "obligation." I also did a lot of non team sports like skateboarding and BMX. For me, it was always about getting better. I'd play basketball by myself to practice without a hoop even lol. Weight training was a natural transition for me and I'm happy to see another person find value in being active and adopting a healthy hobby, especially lifting. Continue training and don't look back. Great post and good health.
