Well I never...
Walking through Birmingham, England today and there appears to be a sudden appearance of bears in various guises.
Lots of differently coloured bears have adorned the streets as part of The Big Sleuth.
Following on from The Big Hoot art installations of 2015, Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity and Wild in Art have teamed up to present The Big Sleuth
Contrary to what you might first imagine, Sleuth in this term does not mean a investigator or detective of any kind, but is instead the collective noun for a group of bears. I'd never have guessed until I looked it up too...
The Birmingham Mail has an interesting map of all of the bear locations with pictures and a description of the bear and sponsor
100 bears have been created, sponsored and painted by various businesses and groups and have been laid out across the West Midlands area from Dudley, all the way through to Birmingham Airport.
Wherever you go, there has to be a Star Trek reference
Just when you thought it wasn't possible, theres a bear disguised as an octopus.
All of the bears have been collated onto a map of the West Midlands which you can see here - The Big Sleuth Project: Interactive Map
The organisers have even compiled a Little Bears Detective Club which you can find on their website
Some of the bear are still being arranged and some are being removed for a little touch up and alterations work to make sure that they last through until the end of the exhibition in September 2017.
