Well, we've been in our house for around 15 years now. As with a lot of things in life, you get to a point were you can out-grow your surroundings. Simple things like a dining room, a reasonable office space, an additional bathroom. They all eventually come together to leave you craving more.
A few weeks ago we did a little looking and surprisingly we found a nice, not-so-little new-build being built not-too-far away. Just far enough for it to be out of town in a nice little village. It's on the edge of a group of houses, next-door to farmland.
Ok, so the house hasn't been built yet, but that gives us more of a chance to personalise. Things like kitchen, carpets, shower and all of those little things. It's a four-bedroom house, with a study and dining room. The picture is a likeness to what it should look like when finished.
Excited much? Oh the heck, yes.
The mortgage will double and I know the interest rates can only go upwards from where they are now. But we think this is manageable.
Scary much? Very much so.
We have around a week to de-personalise our existing house so that it can go on the market.
More updates as we get them... Next things on the list to organise, selling our existing house and getting a mortgage for the new place.
