This isn't a fine list of things I'm gratitude for, but rather a blog about the journey I had with Steemit.
Reena.K
It's funny because I didn't celebrate my 1 year on Steemit, instead I chose to write what I learnt over the past 14 months. I believed a lot of us came a long way, I had my little knocks here and there, I didn't know anything about climbing up the rep but being persistent, I soon learned about communities, bots, SPs investments and ect.
I hope this blog post can help some of the new steemians or new bloggers by sharing my experience here.
It's never too late
It's never too late to blog, it's never to join steemit, it's never too late to start writing, and it's never too late to show your talent to the world. If you looked at those youtubers or famous people on the social network, they don't become famous overnight. Most of them have been in the circle for quite a while and people know their existence before the media decides to do a coverage on them or before big companies decide to work with them. How do I know? My job involves looking for these potential people for marketing. That's how I know there is no age limit or required experience to start blogging, vlogging, doing media content or writing. You just have to start. If you are reading this, Congratulations. You started your first step, now make the next step that is right for you.
Steemit didn't make me loaded with cash. #truestory
It's true. I didn't earn my millions through this platform yet. But I certainly got my chance to trade the sbds and steem around. 14 months on Steemit looking at the trade and price, you can certainly know the rise and fall of cryptocurrency. I learn my basics here without using my own money to learn about cryptocurrency, which is a bonus!
Steemit may not make me a millionaire within a year, but I certainly earned a million experience through this platform.
The challenge of being consistent
Even though my blogging on Steemit isn't as consistent as the first 8 months I joined Steemit, I write every single day. I've been translating and writing content for companies, and I've write marketing materials and articles on website and forums. I'm still active on Steemit because of my commitment with to share Chinese culture to the world through the account. It is challenging, but with discipline, one will certainly get a hang of it.
That's it's okay to take a break
At one point, I was very anxious because I could not get a lot of things done, I had writing blocks because I didn't know what to write. I didn't do food reviews because I've been getting takeaway almost everyday for lunch in the office, and they don't look pretty enough for me to post on Steemit. I find myself too exhausted to keep up with a certain theme on Steemit as all my creativity is poured into other projects. I have a theme??Well, I'm trying to set one 😂
"Life can be overwhelming when you're passionate in your work and put 110% in them. But knowing that I am progressing, always put a smile on my face."
Steemit is part of my social network
Like any social network, it needs commitment. As a professional who worked in media management which involves PR marketing and social network; it has been my job to maintain relationship for different clients and connect them to work together. However, my work has taken a big part of me, and I neglected the social network that is closest to my growth. Steemit isn't much for work, it is me. And everything written here has gone through an amount of passion and research. It is something that I treasure on a personal level since it helped me so much. I'm somehow emotionally attached to this platform and I'm grateful for everything this platform had taught me.
BUT, I'm back. That's why you are reading this post.
There is no excuse to get back on track
It's true. You get back to work on Mondays after weekends are over; we get into a new year after Christmas for the year passed. So there is no excuse to get ourselves back on track. You can make plans, and you can make modifications to what is ahead. You can decide if Steemit is the right place for you, but I gotta tell you , this place is addictive! Because this platform keeps you coming back to check your rewards, and you will know if you're on the right track towards a bigger rep.
Big thank you to that initiate the #gratitudetrain, ever since my first 30 I learn to appreciate more of the things around me.
That's all from me, see you next time.
Lot of love
