When in elementary school, I had a friend who was just obsessed with myths. I always told him that they weren't real but he wouldn't believe me. So I set out on a quest to prove him wrong and started a research on myths of different types. I already knew myths were unreal but the results shocked me even more. Everything was so nonsensical; in fact, they were just ways our ancestors brought up in order to understand the unknown. For instance, the greeks explained echos, a phenomenon resulting from reflection of sound, as a gossip who was cursed by a goddess to repeat everything that people said. Umbelievable right. It gets even crazier; the Egyptians believed that cats, what we see as cute little pets, were guardians of the underworld. I know that by now my friend is mature enough to realize they were all lies and if not, I'm sure there's a problem with his head that needs to be fixed.
