A few random thoughts here. We'll throw in some haiku too, making this a haibun of sorts. Most of my followers (if they are still paying attention) probably expect those small verses from me by now, so I'd hate to disappoint. Of old, Santōka[1] wrote "The only things I need in life are saké and haiku". Well, I have some sake right here next to me, and always a verse or two bouncing around in my head, so let's go

I'm continuing to get back into the writing habit and the Hive habit. With the price of Hive so low, I'm considering buying in. I've seen a few posts pointing to exchanges, but let me ask anyone reading this:
What is your favorite place to buy Hive? With eth and btc network fees so high right now, I'd likely be buying with USD (or perhaps yen) instead of using crypto, so an exchange that accepts USD/yen easily would be best.
Speaking of BTC: past 40k! Wow, who would have thought? After it finally passed 20k, I expected 30 before a correction, but 40! Now it seems like they are going to try to push 50. It's thrilling to watch, but as always... makes me wish I had bought more before the jump.

why didn't I buy more

I am slowly getting back into Splinterlands. Thanks for helping me back into a guild and
and
for getting me up to date with some of the changes.
I haven't done too much with discord yet, but if any of my old pals from the Writers Block or any of my haiku circles are still hanging around, give me a shout-out.
An amusing story for all of you (I know, this post is completely random, isn't it?): I've been reading my oldest Fellowship of the Ring for the past few nights. He is only 8 and I suspect he isn't understanding a lot, but after going through the hobbit he really really wanted to continue so I figured why not. Anyway, we just left Tom Bombadil and returned to the road at the close of our last reading. My son is now comparing power-levels of Gandalf, Bombadil, and Glinda (from The Wizard of Oz, the entire huge series of books of which we read last year). It's fun to watch his theories and ideas.

Finally, thank you to for the reblog the other day. I'm delighted to find her still posting. If anyone reading this doesn't follower her, I'd urge you to do so.
(ok, final final thing—is ulog still a thing? I will tag this post with it, just in case)
A wandering Zen monk. Over his life, he crisscrossed Japan on foot, writing and drinking the entire time. He wrote free-verse haiku, that is not with a 5/7/5 syllable count, nor with nature words, nor anything else that traditionally a haiku was suppose to do. ↩
ku, meaning verse, is haiku shorthand for haiku. ↩
