When a social platform has an extrinsic reward system built into it, does that exacerbate the traditional FOMO effect?
In my own experience, as an anxious person -- yeah, kind of.
Breaking your own (arbitrarily set) posting timetable, missing out on a good discussion or an important topic, stumbling around and making a bad impression -- on a platform where your engagement is a measure of your worth, FOMO can be a powerful stress amplifier.
What about folks who stress about both social and financial FOMO with all the votes, vesting, communities, bots and a lots of stuff I barely begin to understand? I get a tinge of that every time I stumble upon a STEEM profit optimization article myself, heh. But that's not why I came here
But while the platform creates problems (for us neurotic individuals), it also provides solutions for those who are willing to learn, willing to never stop seeking answers. And sometimes you also need to go back and re-read the advice you already presumed to have absorbed :)
Stop. Take stock. Re-access your emotions, your situation. Re-focus.
