Hey dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope you are all doing well! Today I would like to discuss an interesting topic and hope you can expand your knowledge a little.
Here are some pictures that I created with the help of artificial intelligence and that should present the Phoenicians a little closer, which were people that have populated large areas of the Mediterranean. Due to the location, they were one of the strongest powers at sea and quickly recognized important trade routes and it came to the fact that colonies were established by them in numerous countries, which were important trading points. The trade of various raw materials was decisive that they became the strongest sea power at that time and they were great builders and built magnificent ships or buildings and important trading points were Spain, Italy or Africa at that time. It is assumed that they lived during the 1st Millennium BC. and had inhabited the area of today's Syria, Lebanon as well as Israel and themselves they were known by other names and were considered relatively divided nation which has often been named after cities and the name Phoenician which is known today can probably be traced back to the Greeks. The Phoenicians were considered very innovative and established an important basis of today's alphabet and this writing was widespread throughout their whole territory and there are even assumptions that the Phoenicians already visited other continents before other explorers, but there is little historical evidence about this topic. Also from a military point of view, the Phoenicians developed into one of the strongest powers and the first to dare to attack them was the Roman Empire at that time and one of the most important cities was Carthage, which is located in the area of today's Tunisia and there were violent confrontations between the 2nd and 3rd century BC and after long battles, the Romans took the lead.
Thanks for taking the time to read through my post and I hope you like it and can learn something new about this important topic!
