I’m nearly fifty years old and my patience is growing thin for many nonsensical things in life. What I'm really growing very tired of lately are Musk’s cryptic crypto Tweets, Bitcoin being stuck in “no man's land”, and the ever-present and predictable FUD from China.
I even saw an article being promoted on Facebook recently from The Economist warning the next big crypto market crash could bring down the entire legacy financial market...as if this wasn’t several decades past-due to crash hard anyway. After all, why not blame it on crypto instead of the trillions of dollars the FED has printed since the Housing Crisis of 2008 to delay the inevitable?
I have to say, up until this point it’s been super impressive to watch the market bounce back after these attempts at market manipulation but how long will this continue? Just as the market seems to be gaining momentum it gets immediately hamstrung by these outside forces. Here's to hoping investors continue to panic sell less and less during these attempts to manipulate the market. I think they're beginning to catch on to this market tanking Tweets.
Six Months Of Moof’ing
I’ve had my VanMoof S3 for six months now and have ridden it nearly five hundred miles. The only problem I’ve had up until this point are squeaky front disk brakes that corrected themselves somewhere around the three hundred mile mark.
The bike has been an absolute joy to ride but does have a learning curve. Some people criticize VanMoof for how heavily they rely on technology and the app to control the bike. Instead of being an Achilles heel I believe this is the bike’s greatest strength. Like Tesla, VanMoof can push over-the-air updates to the bike to enhance/add features and fix issues. The bike essentially is a blank slate for developers to toy with. Just a month ago a new firmware update completely corrected clunky gear changes and now shifting is as smooth as butter. They also added a little more power to the motor.
At this stage of my life I tend to measure purchases by how much happiness they bring me. This bike is a thrill and sets that bar pretty darn high.
Ephemera Bitcoin Easter Egg - FIRST CLUE!
Before Amazon allows an author to make a book available to the general public they require them order a physical copy to proof and then give the final okay. I'm excited to announce that I was notified yesterday that the proof copy of Ephemera is due to be delivered on June 10th.
If you don’t remember (or hadn’t heard) Ephemera itself is a cipher for a Bitcoin easter egg hidden within its pages. The wallet was funded with 0.00840000 BTC, which was $500 worth of Bitcoin (It’s worth less than that today thanks to Elon).
As promised, I’m going to give you a head start and drop the first clue right here on Hive today.
The clue is “52”.
Ephemera’s publication date will be announced here within the next week. Good luck everyone!
Roadrunner
If you’re as big of an Anthony Bourdain fan as I am you’ll have to catch this new documentary about his life called Roadrunner.
Tony had a unique way of viewing and exploring the world that set him apart from the sea of travel show hosts on cable television. His shows seemed like advice from that cool older brother or uncle that you always looked up to. He left us, tragically, on June 8th, of 2018 and this looks like a wonderful tribute to his memory. Tony taught us, in a way as only he could, that if we step out of our comfort zones and explore the world with humility it will teach us more than we can possibly imagine.
Roadrunner is released in theaters here in the US on July 16th.
All for now.
With Gratitude,
Eric Vance Walton

Most of us have experienced a moment of perfect peace at least once in our lives. In these moments we lose ourselves and feel connected to everything. I call these mindful moments. Words can’t describe how complete they make us feel.
These moments are usually fragile, evaporating in seconds. What if there was a way to train your mind to experience more of them? It’s deceptively easy and requires nothing more than a subtle shift in mindset. My new book, Mindful Moments, will teach you to be much more content despite the chaos and imperfect circumstances continuing to unfold around you.
