I've been into collecting things since I was a young boy. At first, it was leaves, sticks, and rocks. However, it's difficult to say what I was actually collecting because they weren't part of any sort of collection. After I aged a little I got some sense. I started collecting sets like baseball cards and other sports (NHL, NBA, NFL), stamps and my personal favorite coins.
At first, I started collecting coins from every year as far back as I could go. I then started collecting the limited edition ones like when they change the symbol or introduce any state. The funny thing is none of them really had any value.
I guess I slowly became a bit of a hoarder, but then I started selling things I no longer wanted for gold and silver. After a while, I've built up quite the collection of gold bullion and silver. Silver is heavy for its value, but it's good for low-value bartering, unlike gold. It also doesn't sting as much when you get ripped off. Well, that's why I try and collect rare coins or rolls of them.
I like alternatives to trusting all my money in paper bills and banks. You never know when the government is going to become evil (again and again and again). The Fractional Reserve banking system is a crime and a complete scam of an institution. Sorry, I am getting sidetracked. It's also why I've been recently attracted to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies like Steem. I value privacy and passwords.
I held back for the longest time to buy cryptocurrency actually, but I was really itching during the last bull run so I bought some when it went over $10,000, then the crash happened. Recently, seeing it get up over 10k again got me excited so I am back into it now and decided to get Steem finally.
Well, that's enough about me. I hope to learn a lot here from like-minded people.
Nice to meet you all.
