I am so happy that this product exists. There are many of my Asian and European friends who don't even know about this product and while it is dangerous, it can be an absolute godsend in times of need.
For all of you doctor-types out there, Afrin is a brand name of oxymetazoline nasal spray. Now i don't know exactly what oxymetazoline hydrochloride actually is but i suspect it is some sort of magic substance that fell from space 80 years ago. The concentration in the spray is only .05 % and i can only presume that if you were to take a one-hundred percent dose that you would unlock the other 95% of your brain capacity.
The main thing that is just so amazing about this stuff is that it really doesn't matter how sick you are and how congested your nasal passages are, Afrin WILL WIN.
I have been in a situation where I was so congested that getting any air through my nose was simply not going to happen and a squirt of this stuff and 10 minutes later I was clearer than I am when not sick.
Plus we have all likely been in that situation where one side was totally clogged and the other side had no such problem. This is almost more annoying than being totally blocked and for me it comes from lying on my side and i guess gravity decides to totally screw me over.
Although this product does come at a price: If you use Afrin for too long or decide you like the super-clear effect it has on you and you decide you are going to use it even after not sick anymore.... you are going to have a bad time.
I have known multiple individuals that got "hooked" on Afrin and had to get on prescription drugs and be carefully monitored by a doctor because their body lost the ability to be clear naturally on its own. This obviously is not what I want to have happen to anyone.
Every time i travel to USA i pick up a bottle of this magical concoction because it is the overall champ of beating sickness. LIke most people, i have been terribly ill a couple times in my life and Afrin never failed to do the job. This has not been the case with a vast majority of other medications I have taken over the years, actually it is the ONLY one and that is extra amazing because just like beer, Afrin is mostly water.
Of course it appears as though I have wasted my money again because as it turns out all i had to do was squeeze one of my fingers to accomplish the same thing.
